🏅 66-Year-Old “Shuttler Dadi” Nirmala Bisht Wins 3 Medals in Sri Lanka

Nirmala Bisht, popularly known as the "Shuttler Dadi" of Uttarakhand, showcased her exceptional prowess by clinching 3 medals at the Ceylon Masters International Badminton Championship held in Sri Lanka from June 6–9, 2025.

Competing against masters players from countries like Germany, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, she brought immense pride to Uttarakhand and India.


According to Vipin Balooni, President of the Masters Sports Federation, her achievements are a testament to the fact that determination knows no age limits .


Nirmala has previously earned gold in Chandigarh and silver at the Goa Yonex Sunrise Masters tournaments. She is also set to represent India in the Thailand World Masters Games this September .
