In a bold move, Dehradun District Magistrate Sonika sealed a private bank in the Vikasnagar area after a woman accused bank employees of publicly harassing her over an unpaid loan installment. The woman raised the complaint during a public grievance hearing, stating that the bank staff misbehaved with her and humiliated her when she couldn't make her EMI payment.

Taking swift action, DM Sonika ordered the SDM and local police to inspect the bank. Upon confirmation of the woman's claims, the bank branch was sealed on the spot. The administration is now investigating the bank’s recovery practices and has warned of strict consequences if any misconduct is confirmed.
