🔄 Uttarakhand Government Transfers 33 IAS & 24 PCS Officers

Late Thursday night, the Uttarakhand government under CM Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring a total of 33 IAS officers and 24 PCS officers 


🏙️ Key District-Level Assignments:


  • Pauri Garhwal:

    • Ashish Chauhan (former DM) → now CEO, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council (UCADA) & Director of Sports & Youth Welfare.

    • Swati S. Bhadauria → new District Magistrate of Pauri.


  • Champawat:

    • Navneet Pandey → reassigned as Additional Secretary (Personnel).

    • Manish Kumar (former CDO, US Nagar) → newly appointed DM, Champawat.


  • Rudraprayag:

    • Saurabh Gaharwar → appointed MD, SIDCUL & DG – Industries.

    • Prateek Jain (former MD, SIDCUL) → named DM, Rudraprayag.


  • Uttarkashi:

    • Meharban Singh Bisht → named Additional Secretary (Energy & Cooperation) & Director, UREDA.

    • Prashant Kumar Arya → new DM, Uttarkashi.


🏛️ Other Notable IAS Position Changes:


  • Anand Bardhan relieved from the Water Resources Department.

  • Sachin Kurve moved out of Tourism & CEO, Tourism Development Council.

  • Dilip Jawalkar shifted from Cooperation to Water Resources.

  • Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam now oversees Cooperation along with Animal Husbandry.

  • Dr. Pankaj Pandey off the Labour portfolio.

  • Chandresh Yadav becomes Food Commissioner, relieved of Urban Development.

  • Plus multiple other realignments across Secretaries and Additional Secretaries.


🔹 PCS Officers Reassignments (Sample):


  • Bharat Singh Firmal → Additional Secretary, Secretariat Service.

  • Shiv Kumar Barnwal → now Secretary, UKSSSC.

  • Ramji Sharan Sharma → CDO, Almora.

  • Ashok Kumar Joshi → Director, Milk Development & Women’s Dairy.

  • Other reassignments include roles in labour, municipal administration, skill development, etc.


✍️ Purpose & Context:


This is the second major transfer round this year, following a similar reshuffle on May 11 (25 IAS & 12 PCS moved). The move clearly reflects the Dhami government's intent to refresh leadership, improve governance, and inject new administrative strategies across key regions and departments.
